Andy_MurrayThe British have finally tasted the buds of victory after 73 years of patient waiting filled with tons of expectations and longings!! With his victory at The Queen’s tournament, Murray has become the first home player to earn the trophy since Austin in 1938! History now has two things to make note of – Murray and Fed. Though Federer’s victory at the French Open and Murray’s victory at The Queen’s do seem like nothing similar, the emotional background of both the players matches to be one. Because these players played more against themselves rather than their opponents.
Bearing the dreams and patience of the whole Britain, Murray did have lots of things loaded in his mind to fight against rather than his opponents. Should Murray and Federer meet at Wimbledon draw, it would be strenuous to predict of who would be more nervous, for Fed would be striking hard to break Sampras’ record of 14 Grand Slam titles while Murray would be striving to turn the 73 years of British hope into something meaningful. Murray has achieved great peaks with this victory ranking him as the third best in the world. He believes it will be 18 months before he tops the list. This is 73 years of difficulty and surely there is a huge rising hope that Murray will end it!
