Saina – India’s new ray of hope!
The maximum extent that a 19 year old shuttler, hailing from a nation where one has to compete against millions of other aspirants in one’s own nation, can ever dream of, has nothing been more than some National championship. But this brand new and fresh aspirant, fully packed with energy and aspirations to reach great heights, has grabbed the attention of the millions of shuttle lovers wondering over her stupendous development, within a matter of few months with her victory over the reigning World No.3 Lin Wang from China! With Rafael Nadal’s defeat in the hands of Robin Soderling in his very own backyard -the clay court, Saina had her own question of moral support and boosting, for if Soderling could do it against the champion then why not her!
It was a few days after the French Open that Saina made her own history in Badminton by her remarkable victory over World No.3 Lin Wang. Dr.Harvir Singh, her father opens the fact that after watching the French Open, Saina’s mental attitude had undergone drastic changes! She was able to overcome the greatest fears of facing the top level champions with great ease, setting behind her own mental blocks. And when Arif shares his moments of coaching Saina, he seems to be really impressed with the dedication and effort that this girl was ready to show even at her early ages when other girls of her age were usually tending to their Barbies. Though Saina failed to enter the semifinals, she has put up an unforgettable show which would take ages to fade out.
